Ruth D. McMahon, 96, of Albany passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 9, 1918 in Dolgeville, NY, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Leona Beebe DeLand.
She was a graduate of Faxton School of Nursing in Utica, NY. Ruth was a woman who accepted all challenges in life with grace, poise and a smile. She was a beautiful person and was truly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Survivors include her children Judith Morris of Virginia Beach, VA; Michael E. McMahon (Barb) of Poughkeepsie, NY; Debra Eagan (Dr. Thomas) of Gloversville, NY; David McMahon (Dawn) of Glenmont, NY and Laurie Gorski (Stanley) of Colonie, NY; sister Doris Hueter; brothers Stewart DeLand and Willard DeLand; grandchildren Danielle Broadstreet, Kristen Bunting, Michael J. McMahon, Maureen Merrill, Todd Eagan, Travis Eagan, Ellery Cohen, Courtney McMahon, Conor McMahon, Spencer McMahon, Sean Gorski and Kylie Gorski and 9 great grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Michael A. McMahon and her brother Gordon DeLand
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
