Guilderland- Ruth E. Brown passed away on September 11, 2015 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, loving daughter of Mollie and Isaac Etlinger and proud sister to Sidney. Ruth graduated Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, NY and attended Brooklyn College. She met and married the love of her life, Ralph Brown and worked to put him through medical school. They settled in Troy where her brother Sidney was a practicing podiatrist and had their daughter, Joanne. The Doctors shared an office on the corner of First and State Street for many years. She worked in Ralph's office and had a small antique business. Ruth loved to read, bargain hunt and collect antiques. An avid animal lover, she bred standard poodles as well as rescuing and fostering them. Ruth was the beloved and loving wife of Ralph for 49 years until his passing in 2003 and beyond.

A special thanks to the "A wing" nurses and staff: Gigi, Brenda, Dan as well as all the CNA's especially: Tammy, Jenn E, staff Katie and Sara Ribley; Supervisors: Mary and Brenda, Dawn, Denise, and people who no longer work there: Krissy, Lacie, Lorraine, Anita, Sue G., Florence, Maria B and Bailey.
A funeral service will be held at 9 am on Thursday, September 17 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial will follow in Berith Sholom Cemetery, Troy.
