Haines City, FL – Ruth E. Leonard, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 25, 2005. She was a longtime resident of the Town of New Scotland, recently relocated to sunny Florida.
Ruth was born on February 14, 1929 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Albert and Emma Sebascus Heilman.
Ruth worked as a clerk for the NYS Department of Civil Service for 36 years before retiring in 1995.
Ruth loved the outdoors, especially the beach, boating on Lake George and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
Ruth is survived by her longtime life partner, Richard H. Manss; her children, Kathleen Kim Leonard of Buskirk, Denise Kip (John) Murray of Delmar, Martin P. (Beckie) Leonard of Scotia and Kelly A. (Christopher) Albright of Voorheesville and her grandchildren, Derek and Adam Murray, Aaron, Trevan and Brittany Albright and Bridget and Dylan Leonard; and her brother, George Heilman. She was predeceased by a son, Keith Edward Leonard and a brother, Albert Heilman
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Ruth E. Leonard.
