Ruth E. (Wendell) Danz

COLONIE- Ruth Elizabeth (Wendell) Danz, 79, of Colonie, passed into eternal life on Thursday March 11, 2010 surrounded by her seven children, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late Louise and Joseph Wendell. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ferdinand "Bull" Danz Jr and a great granddaughter.
She was educated in Rensselaer schools. Ruth was married June 21, 1951 and later moved with her husband and young family to their new home in Colonie. She was a homemaker and never ceased to enjoy the intimacy and joys of her home and her large family. Ruth later worked at the Albany County Nursing Home for 19 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. Along with her husband, they traveled to Florida and Hawaii and enjoyed many local day trips.
Ruth is survived by her seven children, Dennis (Laurie) Danz of Rotterdam, Stephen (Deborah) Danz of Latham, Patricia Marx of Schenectady, Richard (Barbara Buyer) Danz, Brian and Robert Danz all of Colonie and Bruce Danz of Glenville. She is the cherished grandmother of Shawn and Stephanie Danz; Kimberly, Dawn, and George Marx, Kristina Durrer, Samantha Danz, Jason, Craig and Nichole Danz, Nicholas and Michael Danz; Jennifer, Jessica and Janet Danz. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren. She is deeply loved and will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kateri Shrine, Box 627, Fonda, NY 12068 in memory of Ruth E. Danz.
