Albany- Ruth H. Burmaster, 85, died on Friday, January 6, 2005 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center.
Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late Pirie and Carrie Burmaster. She was a graduate of Albany High School and went on to work as a Claims Examiner for the NYS Insurance Fund retiring after 34 years of service in 1976. Ruth loved traveling, cats and her collection of Boyd's Bears and ceramic dolls. Ruth is predeceased by her brother Pirie W. Burmaster and her sister Marie Burmaster Ferow.
Ruth is survived by her brother Herbert W. Burmaster of Albany, her sister Shirley James and her husband Ward of Clifton Park. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, David M. Burmaster and his wife Helen of Colonie, Paul Burmaster of Guilderland, Barbara Burmaster of Colonie, Patricia Beaulieu and her husband Wayne of FL., Gail Bruso and her husband Michael of Niskayuna, Carrie James of Clifton Park, and Karen Casey-Beahm of PA., and many great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, 2 Mercycare Lane, Guilderland, NY 12084 in memory of Ruth H. Burmaster.
