Ruth Ophelia Harris-Smith, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. William James Harris also the late sister of William Styles and William James Jr. and Mrs. Naomi Harris-Turner and her adopted sister, Ms. Betty Hunt born July 2, 1947 in Spartanburg S.C. She departed this life unexpectedly on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Hudson Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Home.
Ruth was 5-years-old when parents moved their family to Albany, NY where she attended to St. Philip Catholic School and from there she went to Philip Schuyler High School and she also attend job cord in Maine for a trade in welding. She worked at GE Plant as a welder in Schenectady, NY and she also worked as a housekeeper in different places. In 2006 Ruth had a calling on her life by God She interns in to the mystery. Ruth was married to Nathaniel Smith in September 15, 2015.
Minister Ruth was a mother to all and a devoted friend. She gave her love to all, she loved to laugh, she enjoyed hot chicken wings and pizza and enjoyed having fun. everyone who know her called her Big Mama because she was mother to all.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons: David Walden (Dinky) and Joseph Walden (little Joe); three sisters: Joyce Seabrooks (husband Tyron Seabrooks) state of GA, Minister Brenda Williams-Harris Schenectady, Isabell Harris Albany, NY and two brothers: David Harris (wife Kathy Harris) Schenectady NY, Deacon Joseph Harris (Pastor Jannett Harris) Schenectady, NY; four grandchildren: Nahiem, Jakiem Walden, Nadia Walden and Jakob Riley and host of nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.
Though departed from this life she will forever remain in the hearts of all those who loved her.
