GUILDERLAND – Ruth J. Hilton, 81, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2006 at the Albany Memorial Hospital.
Ruth was born on August 25, 1924 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Albert and Catherine Van Denburgh Almy.
Ruth was a cashier at the Trading Port in Albany for over 40 years before retiring in 1983. She enjoyed making flower arrangements, camping, gardening, traveling, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond G. Hilton; her devoted daughter, Debbie (Don) Frederick of Voorheesville, her cherished grandchildren, Kristen (Jeff) Ruby and Jeffrey Frederick; her beloved dog, Nikki; her brothers, Albert (Tess) Almy, John Almy, James (Dorothy) Almy; her sister, Dorothy McClelland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
