Ruth Jewell

COLONIE - Ruth Eleanor Jewell, 84, of Colonie, passed away on Friday July 22, 2005 at St. Peters Hospital. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late John J. and Flora B. Lansley Helmuth. Ruth was a Registered Nurse and had worked for the General Electric Company Burn Unit as well as private duty nursing. She was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for over forty years at the church.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harry L. Jewell Jr. She is the beloved mother of John H. Jewell and his wife Debbie. Cherished grandmother of Katie Jewell.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:30 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
