Ruth Heider Keyser, 96, was called to her heavenly home Sunday, July 25, 2021. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Herbert and Emma Kittler Heider. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Donald D. Keyser.
Ruth was raised in Schenectady and graduated from Mont Pleasant High School. She was a draftswoman for General Electric and the Office Manager for Dr. John Senn. She was a member of the Fort Hunter PTA (officer), SICM Food Pantry, Ellis Medicine McClellan Street Health Center (formerly St. Clare's) and Fort Hunter Fire Department. Ruth was a charter member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Niskayuna. She enjoyed choir singing, the Ruby Toppers Red Hat Society, Elks and Does Square dancers of Colonie, Christmas in July parties, family camping trips, and traveling. She will always be remembered for her warm smile, Christmas cookies, garage sales and her coordinated fashion sense complete with matching hat and jewelry.
Ruth is survived by her children Dean H. Keyser (Jean Louise Mahar) of Rochester, NY; Janet Keyser Carnes (Kenneth) of Reno, NV; Kenneth R. Keyser (Melanie) of Houston, TX; and Patricia Keyser Blanchard (Richard) of Guilderland, NY. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Ruth was also predeceased by her grandson Joseph A. Keyser and dear friend, Robert Higgins, of Guilderland, NY.
The family thanks Laura, Tara, Michelle and Kristen of Community Hospice, and also Camay, Laurie and Kari.
A visitation will be held Wednesday September 15th from 4pm-7pm, with a Memorial Service to follow Thursday September 16th at 11am Immanuel Lutheran Church.
