Cohoes- Ruth Helen King (Kristof), 82, passed away on November 27, 2017 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on November 22, 1935 in Albany, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Kristof (Metcalf). Ruth married George Alexander King, Jr. on January 19, 1952 and enjoyed 52 years of loving marriage until George passed away in 2004.
Ruth worked briefly for New York State as a secretary and then devoted her time to raise her four children. She then spent 20 years as a legal secretary working for Criscione Law Firm retiring in 2000. In 1945 Ruth dedicated her life to her God Jehovah, and for 72 years faithfully carried out her vow to teach people the Bible and witness about the God that she worshiped. In her years she touched many lives and became a trusted friend, confidant and spiritual support.
Ruth is survived by her loving daughter Brenda Tousignant and sons David G. King (Rene), Daniel J. King and Brian P. King (Laurie). Survivors also included her older sister Rita Mroz and grandchildren, Paul King (Lisa), Jeremy King (Christine), Eric Tousignant (Gina), Karen Tousignant, Jordan King, Gregory King and David King Jr. Ruth is also survived by five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was very dear to her family and she enjoyed showing them how much she loved them with kisses, hugs and acts of loving kindness.
A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Latham Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 400 Albany-Shaker Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 4:00pm.
