Albany – Ruth M. Morrell, 96, passed away Tuesday March 30, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Ruth was born in East Berkshire, VT the daughter of the late Wallace and Melvina (Mercy) Baker. She was raised on a dairy farm and has always had a great appreciation for the countryside. Ruth worked for General Electric as a lab technician for many years and was very proud of Schenectady, but her greatest passion was her family. Her husband Fred Morrell predeceased Ruth in 1991.
She is survived by her children: Virginia Catalfamo and Melvin Vinceguerra, grandchildren: Debbie (Joe) Riitano, Anthony (Sheila) Catalfamo, Lori (Frank) Lombardi, Russell Catalfamo, Lynn (Walter) Cortella and Michael, Stephen and Richard Vinceguerra, great-grandchildren: Jenny (Mike), Tiffanie (Dave), Kate (Pete), Anthony, Gina, Amanda, Joey, Josh, Frankie, Renata, Robert, Mike, Joey and David, great-great-grandchildren: Lauren, Owen, Emily and Wils. In addition to her husband, Ruth was predeceased by her grandson Ronald Catalfamo.
The family would like to thank the Teresian House for the loving care given to Ruth.
The funeral service will be Friday 7:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
