Albany – Ruth N. Carpenter, 92, passed away on April 8, 2010 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ruth lived in the Albany area her entire life and worked for many years at the New York State Department of Transportation. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and also participated in the craft groups at Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church and Regency Apartments. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd E. Carpenter and her daughter Joan C. Howe.
Ruth is survived by her children, Kathleen Worley (Phil) of Connecticut, Nelson Carpenter (Mary Ellen) of Gansvoort, Linda Worden (Lorenz) of Albany, Mary Ellen McCranie (George) of Albany, and son in law Edward Howe of Schenectady. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church on April 10 at a Time to be determined. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
