SCOTIA-Ruth S. Wilson , 86, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2016.
She was born on December 16, 1929 to the late Benjamin and Maggie (Alston) Taylor in Newport News, VA.
Ruth worked for the State of New York Department of Equalization and Assessment as a computer files clerk. She retired after over 40 years of service. Ruth loved gardening, singing and music and cooking. She was a devoted and loving mother to her 2 children and grandmother to her grandson Kenneth. She will be dearly missed.
Ruth is survived by her loving son, Kenneth Wilson; grandson, Kenneth J. Wilson; sister, Mildred Noland and many friends.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Belinda R. Wilson and sister, Doris Dees
Friends are invited to visit the family on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A memorial service to celebrate Ruth's life will begin at 12:00 pm on Thursday. Graveside services will follow at Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choosing to contribute towards the treatment and eradication of cancer.
