ALBANY – Sally M. Hartmann, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 4, 2013 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, spending her last hours with her husband Pierre, her sons and grandchildren.
She was born in Plattsburgh on May 13, 1936 and lived most of her life with her mother Valieda Lucia and stepfather Raymond Leveque. Sally met her beloved husband of 57 years Pierre Paul Hartmann and they raised three sons, Michael, Stephen and John.
Sally was the proud owner of Sally's Pub on Central Ave in Albany during the 1970's and 80's. She managed the business and supported the community with many charitable events. Sally sponsored several champion softball teams that enjoyed great success and wonderful after parties. The team and their families were considered a part of her extended family. Always one to help those in need, Sally opened her home to those less fortunate during the holidays. She enjoyed helping others and remembered those days fondly.
Sally and Pierre retired to Spring Hill, Florida sixteen years ago. Sally quickly became the party planner in their Windward Village Community and was recognized as the one in charge of fun and a good time. She always loved to plan the food and decorations for any event and was truly gifted with all of the details. She enjoyed life and will eternally be our Precious Angel.
When her boys married, she finally got her girls, Michael and Maureen of Slingerlands, Stephen and Kimberly of Bethlehem, John and Kelly of Latham. Her greatest joy were her cherished grandchildren, Brian, David, Kristen, Stephenie, Justin, Nicole, Lauren, Michelle, Michaelyn and Chelsea. She is the great grandmother of Logan and Abigail.
