Colonie- Salvatore F. Mormino "Sam", 87, passed away on October 16, 2022 at home.
Born on June 11, 1935 son of the late Anthony and Maria (LoPresti) Mormino in Whitehall, NY.
Sam was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during the Korean War. Sam enjoyed running Bass Masters tournaments throughout the NY state for over 30 years. Even after his retirement his life long love of fishing remained strong and he continued to fish up until passing. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
Sam is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen E. Mormino; their children, Karen Witwer (Louis) of Sand Springs, OK, Sharon Segura (Chuck) of Colonie, Joseph Mormino (Nicky) of Naples, Italy; grandchildren, Craig Mormino (Rachael) of Guilderland, Megan Mormino of Guilderland, Michael Segura (Rebecca) of Niskayuna; great grandchildren, Parker, Lyla, Brody, Ellie; sister, Ann Marie Fleury of Ticonderoga and many other extended relatives.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Mormino, Frank Mormino, Nancy Polk, Katherine Horn and Josephine Hooker.
