NISKAYUNA – Salvatore (Sam) J. Polito, 70, passed away Sunday November 17, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 26, 1949 in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Sam and Angie (Maselli) Polito. He attended South Colonie Central High School and earned his Bachelors' Degree from Sienna College in 1971.
Sam was employed for over 25 years as a Purchasing Manager at General Electric in Schenectady before retiring.
Sam will be fondly remembered for his larger than life personality and his crazy sense of humor. He was always there to lend a helping hand or offer advice. He exuded positivity and his laugh was infectious.
He was a devoted son, husband, brother, father and grandfather who cherished every moment with his family.
Sal is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rose (Buzzo) Polito; 2 daughters Shelli (Scott) Jaracz and Julianne (Richard) Reynolds; a son, Sammy (Korin) Polito; 2 grandchildren, Joanna Jaracz and Milana Polito; 2 sisters, Janet (Robert) D'Amario and Debra Polito as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd, Schenectady, NY 12306.
