Salvatore Tarzia, 80, of Albany NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
Born on May 18, 1943 in Grotteria (RC), Italy, he was the son of the late Domenico and Angela Tarzia.
Sal came to the United States in September 1967 and worked at his father Domenico Tarzia's restaurant, Bella Napoli, and then he opened his own restaurant, Amo La Bella NY, in downtown Albany which he ran for 40 years.
Sal will be greatly missed by his Amo La Bella NY family, friends, and customers. He loved the racetrack and socializing at the coffee shop.
Sal is survived by his sister-in-law Maria Eleonora Angilletta, nephews Antonello and family, Domenico and family, cousins Vincenzo and family, and his beloved family in Italy; his goddaughters Monique Earon and Alexis Delanoy; good friend Anna Perez, and many, many, many, dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Salvatore was predeceased by his brothers Giuseppe and Vincenzo Tarzia.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 9:30 am in Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 125 Eagle St., Albany NY 12202. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave., Colonie NY 12205.
