Samuel A. Cicero, Jr.

Loving and devoted father and grandfather, Samuel A. Cicero Jr., age 74, of Schenectady, N.Y. passed peacefully after a long-fought battle with Dementia and other health issues on Saturday August 5th, 2023. He was born in Schenectady to Samuel and Susan Cicero.

Samuel attended Linton High School and graduated in 1969. He was a member of the band and the golf team. These two passions stayed with him throughout his life. After graduation, he was a member of the musical groups Stormy Day and Sage. He also was a member of Gabriel, his church band. Sam had a passion for music and singing. He would often be heard singing rhythm and blues as well as, the top hits from the 70's to himself from the other room. Later in life he enjoyed some country and western that he was introduced to by his caregiver Annemarie.

Sam enjoyed his Corvettes and Buick Riviera with the split top roof in his younger years. As he got older, he enjoyed watching Nascar and riding his motorcycle. He would attend Americade as often as he could, and also attended the Daytona 500.

Sam will be remembered most of all for his sense of humor. He was the original creator of the "dad joke". He was forever entertaining his family and always had a quick remark or comeback. He was very proud of his kids and adored his grandchildren.

Sam will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gail and their 3 children: Samantha Cicero (John Violette), Amy Dunsmore (Rich) and Eddie Paquin (Jennifer) and 7 grandchildren: Michael & Ethan Violette, Kindra, Hailey & Darby Dunsmore, Nicholas & Carly Paquin.

Sam's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Annemarie. Thank you for taking such good care of him and brightening his days with music, singing, and companionship. We are grateful.

Services will be held at: New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie on Tuesday August 15th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
