Samuel B. Riggins Sr.

Samuel B. Riggins, Sr, 98, of Schenectady and, previously Tampa FL passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.


Samuel survived by his wife of 30 years, Lori Riggins

Sam worked for the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 83 and was a proud member of the union for over 60 years. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of Empire Rod and Gun Club. He was active in many organizations that benefited the community, such as SCCAP, Men's Achievement Committee, Friendship Baptist Church, and Sharon Reformed Church. After he retired he enjoyed having a large garden and sharing vegetables with neighbors and friends.

Samuel is survived by three daughters, Hazel Brown, Tampa, Fl, Candace Scott, Albany, and Sidra (Christie) Riggins, Schenectady. He is also survived by two sons, Samuel (Andrea) Riggins, Jr, Scotia, and Judson (Apryl) Riggins, Bowie, MD. He is also survived by his several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Samuel was predeceased by his brother, Willie Riggins, sister, Elsie Simpkins, and two sons, Charlie Riggins and Ross Riggins.
