Sandra A. "Sandy" Ellis

Sandra “Sandy” A. Ellis (DuShane), 71, passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 7, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Evelyn (Moutray) DuShane.

Sandy worked at various retail stores throughout her life. She worked as a production leader at Burger King for several years, which fueled her love of cheeseburgers. Sandy and her husband retired to Conway, South Carolina for a few years, until Lefty’s passing, where they enjoyed the warm weather and making new friends. She returned to the Colonie area, where she enjoyed gambling at casinos, spending time with family and shopping on QVC. Sandy loved Elvis Presley and treasured all her Elvis memorabilia.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Colvin “Lefty” Ellis and her brothers, Jerome DuShane, William DuShane and Daniel DuShane.

Sandy is survived by her sons, Holland “Rick” Caza (Cheryl) and Chad Caza (Tina); granddaughters, Megan Caza and Julie Caza; sister, Linda Maynard; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Maxim Health Care Services for all the wonderful care and love they provided Sandy.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 8 2024 from 4PM to 6PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the funeral home. Interment to follow the funeral ceremony at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
