Schenectady – Ganswith, Sandra Jean, Sandra was born November 24, 1952 in Schenectady, NY to the late William Ganswith and Florance Bowman.
Sandra was very outgoing and loved by many. Her personality was contagious, and she was always seen smiling. Earlier in life, she enjoyed Bowling, Fishing, Softball, playing spades, and even took the Belmont Pop Warner cheerleaders to competition for the first time in many years. She was a secretary to the President of Florida Memorial University, and worked for the Department of Environmental Conservation in New York for over 25 years. She spent her later years surrounded by family enjoying her favorite sports (mainly tennis and basketball), watching her game shows and singing shows, as well as a few of her favorite crime shows. She always wanted to be in the Criminal Justice field.
You could always catch her singing, as music was her favorite. From Motown and Luther Vandross to the current genres playing on the radio, she always had a melody flowing out of her mouth. When she thought you were saying something out of context, she always used the phrase "What you talkin' bout Willis?". Her heart was so pure, and open to anyone. Many saw her as a second mother because she was so easy to talk to and never judgmental. Her love and spirit will forever live on in many people's hearts and memories.
She is survived by her two daughters Brittany and Quazette Ganswith, Husband Larry, grandchildren Tre'Quahn and Jhaydon, sisters Celeste, Michele, and brother Larry.
We love you Mom, and will forever be grateful for all you have taught us.
A Loved One Never Leaves You
A loved one never leaves you,
They're never far away.
They watch you from a distance
And guide you every day.
They do become your angel
And look down from above.
A loved one never leaves you
Because you always have their love.
