Sandra J. Blum

Albany- Sandra "Sandy" Blum passed away September 5th 2015 peacefully at home with her husband Robert by her side. Sandra is the daughter of the late Leslie and Joan Chambers.

Sandy faced her dilemma with enormous courage and determination. For almost 5 years she accepted each and every medical procedure, treatment and side effect with hope and a positive attitude.

Special thanks to her family, friends and co-workers for their support, compassion of every specialist and medical professional involved , from St. Peters to NYOH, CTCA, and Albany Hospice. We are eternally grateful for the exemplary care and compassion that Robaire and Sue provided in Sandy's last few weeks, and oh those massages by Sonia.

Sandy was a lifer at Tax and Finance, where she met many friends.

After she was diagnosed she was given the opportunity to enjoy her camp in "Henslerville", trips to Florida, Las Vegas, the DR, Yankee games, deer watching drives and a lot of tail wagging and kisses from her beloved dogs "Ginger" and "Princess".

She is survived by her husband of 45 years Robert, daughter Lynn Losee (Jim) and son Casey Blum, grandchildren K.J. LaJoy, Ariana Losee, Riley Blum and great grandson Mitchell Griffith. Also survived by brothers Edward Chambers (Sue), John Chambers (Joan), Robert Chambers (Tina), Tim Chambers, sister Betsy Pomakoy (George) and brother in laws Howard Blum (Pat) and Richard Blum(Barbara).
Sandy was an inspiration to everyone that got to know her and will be sorely missed.

Calling hours will be held Friday, September 11th 2015 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 12th 2015 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery (Colonie).

In lieu of flowers donations to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and/or Adirondack Save a Stray in her name would help to pay some of her love forward.
