Sandra (Sandy) Elaine Evans Sarbo
Schenectady- Sandra Elaine Evans Sarbo, 81, of Rotterdam, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at St. Peters Hospital with her loving family beside her after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on June 8, 1940 in Schenectady, New York to the late Alfred and Margaret Evans, Sandy was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School class of 1959. She devoted her life to raising her three children as well as her granddaughter and great-granddaughter. She was the head teller of Trustco bank for 22 years and then became a Certified Home Health Aid caring for many patients. Sandy loved watching the NY Yankees and spending time with her family and friends. Sandy was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years Anthony J. Sarbo as well as her sister Ruth Ann Evans Reisinger.
She is survived by her three children, David (Wendy) Sarbo of Rotterdam, Debbie Sarbo of Rotterdam, Michael (Kim) Sarbo of Duanesburg, as well as her loving grandchildren Karissa Ballmes, Brittney and Meghan Sarbo, Michael and Gabrielle Sarbo and her great grandchildren Hailey Bressler and her beloved Julianna (her BFF) the love of her life. She is also survived by her Brother in law Michael (Lee) Sarbo and her lifetime friends Barbara DePoalo, Joyce Ferraro, Pauline Staszak, Linda Kaska and many other close family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hussain of NYOH as well as the St. Peters Hospice nurses Bert and Margaret for all the love and compassion given to Sandy.
Family and friends are welcome to a Graveside service that will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
