Sandra E. Shank

SCHENECTADY- Sandra E. Shank, age 85, passed away surrounded by family and friends on April 27, 2023.

She was born in Richmond, ME, the daughter of the late Reginald and Zada Emmons. She was also predeceased by her two brothers Roger and Reginald; two sister in laws, Betty and Ruth.

Sandra graduated from Philip Schuyler High School. She retired from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles in 1985.

She was an active outdoorsman- she loved to climb mountains, traveling, theatre shows, spending time with her family and friends and her furry friends, Cody and Biffy.

Sandra is survived by her children: Sue Shank and Roger Shank; cousin, Bob McGinn; niece Colleen Furey (Jim); and nephews John and Ed Emmons. Also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Sue and Roger would like to thank the entire Hospice team and her nursing staff: Dr. Doreen Mondelo, Dr. Sara Clark (Adam Kessler), Dr. Arthur Vakiener and Dr. Scott Pickett (nurse Lori) for taking care of our Mom so well.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday May 4, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her Memorial Service at the funeral home on Friday May 5 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Watervliet Shaker Road, Colonie.
