Guilderland- Sandra J. Wilmot, 79, of Guilderland passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 12, 2022. Sandra was born in Albany, NY on August 6, 1942 to John and Mona O'Shea.
She attended Liverpool High School in Syracuse, NY where she participated in Student Council and Glee Club, graduating in 1961. It was there that glee club Sandy met the dashing race car driver George Wilmot, and they wed in 1963, going on to have two beloved daughters, Teri and Lori.
Sandra realized her greatest aspirations by dedicating her life to her family. She was the Mom who was there for every after school activity, every high school sporting event, always generously giving her children and family unconditional love and encouragement.
As her children grew, Sandra combined her love for her children and her love of cooking by accepting a position to manage a snack bar at The Bowlers Club in Latham, where her children participated in the junior bowling program. She loved working with the junior bowlers, which she did for 17 years until her retirement in 2000. Sandra and George spent the beginning of their retirement traveling the East Coast in their RV, meeting many wonderful friends along the way.
After George passed, Sandra once again entered the workforce becoming a retail sales associate for Cracker Barrel in Clifton Park. Her love for people, caring nature, and ability to talk to anyone at any time propelled her to the top sales associate spot month after month. Sandra retired again in 2012 and spent her remaining years treasuring time with her family, friends, and grand dogs. Most important to her, cooking for all of them.
Sandra had a generous heart, joyous laugh and a kind smile for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
Sandra was predeceased by her Husband George L. Wilmot, her Daughter Teri L. Wilmot, and her Parents John and Mona O'Shea. She is survived by her Daughter Lori A Wilmot-Buonora, Son-in-Law Craig M. Buonora, Cousin Diane Gulliver, and her loving Grand Dogs Jasper and Ellie.
