Albany- Sara R. "Sally" Cole, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Argel and Christine Rawson. Sally was the devoted wife to Kenneth D. Cole Jr. They were married 55 years.
After graduating from high school, Sally went on to become a registered nurse where she provided kind and compassionate care to her patients. She worked as a registered nurse at Schoolhouse Road Pediatrics until her retirement. Sally always had a way of making her patients feel safe and comfortable while she was around.
Sally was a proud and faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Albany. She dedicated her time to teaching youth Sunday School and to helping with many church organizations and events.
Sally enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved cooking for them. She had a love for knitting, cross-stitch and sewing. Her house was adorned with many of her creations and she loved gifting her work to family and friends. Most of all, Sally cherished the time she spent with her loving grandchildren, who adoringly called her "Mena". Sally had a way of bringing love and comfort with her everywhere she went, leaving a trail of smiles behind her.
Sally will truly be missed for the love she provided and will never be forgotten by those who loved her.
In addition to her husband, Sara is survived by her children, Kevin (Rebecca) Cole, Kristen (Jon) Stroebel, and Ericka (William) Silverman; her siblings, Ruth (William) Wallace and Thomas (Kimberly) Rawson; her 6 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York on Tuesday November 15, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 10:00 am at Emmanuel Baptist church, 275 State St, Albany, NY 12210 with burial to follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sally's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
