Scott Ian Nowak

Scott Ian Nowak, 36, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Scott graduated from Christ the King School and then from Linton High School, Schenectady in 1993. Scottie enjoyed hiking, camping, being in the great outdoors and traveling to Phish concerts. Scott was predeceased by his grandfather, John "Opa" Leitans.
Scott is survived by his mother, Vera (Nowak) Daley; his brother, Jeremy Nowak; his grandmother, Gertrude "Omi" Leitans; his aunt and uncle, Jurgen and Marti Pettke; his cousins, Amy (Bob) Miller and Laura Olevsky; his two great nieces, Elizabeth and Lily; many family members in Germany and his extended Bator family in Hawaii. Scott loved being with his friends and family, especially his canine companions, Mataya and Lucas and he will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11am at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave.,Westmere. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The parish family of Christ the King will gather on Friday at 5:30pm at the funeral home for a service for prayer and remembrance. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice, in Scott's memory.
