Scott A. Jones

Scott A. Jones, 64, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 26, 2023 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. He was a lifelong resident of Delmar, born on December 29, 1958. He was the son of the late Donald William Jones and Lillian Merle Jones, and the youngest of three children. He attended Bethlehem Central Schools and graduated Hudson Valley Community College with an associates degree in HVAC in 1986. He worked in residential and commercial HVAC sales and service until his illness in 2023.

He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his Uncle Harold (Andy) Anderson.

He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy Jones of Delmar, NY, son Christopher (Maura) Jones of Wilmington, NC, daughter Nicole (Samuel) Jones of Latham, NY, sister Alison Jones of Florence, MA, brother Douglas Jones of Maine, step-son Ryan (Angela) O'Keefe of Latham, NY, and step-daughter Heather (Taylor) Ott with granddaughter Isabel of Denver, CO.

Scott was an avid car fan, owning several classic cars over the years and often attending any local car shows he could find. His love of cars extended to racing as well. He rarely missed an opportunity to watch NHRA, and would take trips down to the track in Englishtown, NJ when they raced there. Scott also loved to fish. He was a major fan of U2.

The funeral reception will be held on Tuesday, August 1 from 10am-12pm at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205. He will later be laid to rest at Albany Rural Cemetery.
