Segundo Nelson Enrique Alarcón Gallardo, 93, husband of Yolanda Ramirez, of Rensselaer passed away Saturday morning, January 13, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital.

"Enriquíto" was a cobbler and shoe maker in Latacunga Ecuador. He came to the United States in the lates 60's in search of opportunity and prosperity. Enrique landed in California but then quickly moved to New York where he remained until his passing. An avid athlete from his youth, he enjoyed many sports but his favorite was soccer.

"Pop" is survived by his first wife Maria Del Rosario Calderon Garzon, second wife, Yolanda Ramirez, and his children Luis Enrique, Edgar Patrício, Sylvia, Hector, Manuel, Vinicio, Anita, Byron, Michael, Nelson, Rossanna, Paul, and Leeanna and many grand and great grandchildren and many loved ones in many parts of the world.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation from 4 to 6 pm, and services 6 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy-Schenectady Road Watervliet, New York 12189.
