Selleck Mintline

LATHAM-Selleck "Gene" Eugene Mintline, 89, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home, Schenectady. Gene was born in Albany, the son of the late George E. and Daisy L. Selleck Mintline. He was a resident of Latham for 41 years. Gene was a Graduate of Milne High School in Albany, Class of 1941 and then received a BA Degree from Union College, Schenectady, Class of 1945. He was a member of the Latham Community Baptist Church for over 30 years, where he served as church Trustee and Chairman of Trustees. Gene was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army and was a member of the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post 1520 for 54 years. He also was an avid stamp collector (Philatelist) since he was a young boy. In addition, Gene was also a Real Estate Agent with the former Century 21 Home Towne Properties in Colonie for 20 years and also a tax preparer with H & R Block for 27 years. He was an office manager and bookkeeper for various businesses including Sibley Chevrolet.
Gene was the beloved father of Lawrence (Barbara) Mintline of Clermont, FL, Karen (Craig) Lawrence of Davenport, FL, Burton (Dorothy) Mintline of Ballston Spa, Donald (Yvonne) Mintline of Rotterdam, and Barbara L. Mangione of Stafford, VA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Gene was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Helen L. (Linacre) Mintline on April 7, 2007.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd Colonie with a funeral service to follow at 12 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens with military honors.
