Troy- Shalonda Dickson, 36, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 6, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Shalonda was the daughter of Francine Gamble and the late William Dickson.
Shalonda worked as an Admin Assistant at the DOH until she found her home at the Department of Education as an Admin Assistant. She was definitely a fashonista and known for her style. She was an avid reader who read books all the time. She especially like black authors like Sister Souljah. Shalonda would go shopping together and have wine nights with just her mom, Francine and Loriel. She liked to take small trips to NYC and Atlantic City. Shalonda liked to go out to eat and hang out with her Aunt Charlene. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Shalonda is survived by her son, Naseem Dukes; her sister, Loriel Dickson; her brother, Kareem Brown; her aunt, Charlene Gamble, her uncle, Harvey Gamble Jenrett Dukes; dear cousins, Fatima Gamble, Dante Gamble, Jahmeer Jackson, and Enarie Fallen; Her very special nephews, Davontae Pinto and Keyontae Dickson and her favorite baby nephew, Kash'mere Gwynn, she treated him like her son. Also a host of aunts, uncles and cousins survives.
Shalonda is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, O'Neal Gamble and Geneva Gamble; her paternal grandfather, James (Blue) Dickson; her uncles, Karl Gamble, Joseph Dickson and Gary Dickson.
Francine would like to thank the friends and close associates of Shalonda's father, the late William Dickson for all of their support.
A calling hour will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road., Watervliet, on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home from 12 - 1 pm.
