Sharan L. Coon

COLONIE-Sharan L. Coon, 74, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Sharan was born in Niskayuna, NY on February 3, 1942 to the late George and Doris Fisher. Sharan was a graduate of Austin Beauty School and worked as a hairdresser for many years, but first and foremost she was a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. In 1964 Sharan married Joseph Stewart Bartholomew. They were married for five years before his death in 1969. Together they had two daughters. In 1979 Sharan married Gary Martin Coon. They were married for 20 years and together they had one daughter. Sharan will be remembered for her love of singing, dancing, and cooking. Her passion in life was her family. Her loving personality and infectious laugh will be greatly missed.

Sharan is predeceased by her two late husbands, Joseph Stewart Bartholomew, and Gary Martin Coon, her brother, Glenn L. Fisher, her brother-in-law, Bud Morelle, her nephew, Douglas W. Suker, her niece, Sharon A. Suker, and her step-daughter, Susan Espey.

Sharan is survived by her sister, Gail E. Morelle, her children; Alison D. (Jeffrey) Worcester, Michelle E. (Christopher) Grandy, and Jennifer N. (Yucel Kaplan) Coon, Sandy Williams, Thomas (Claudine Bogomolow) Coon, Jeffrey Coon, Lisa Hughes, her nieces; Kim Gatto, Kristen (Chris) Rice, and Lisa (Matt) Ives, her sister-in-law, Sharon Fisher, her 13 grandchildren, her 3 great grandchildren, her 3 great nieces and 3 great nephews, and her friends; Beth Reinke, and Dan and Melody Thomas.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 1:00pm-3:00pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, in Colonie, NY, on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 10:00am.
