Shashi V. Sharma, 56, of Clifton Park, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital. She was a courageous and persistent warrior of 8 years in her battle with breast cancer. Born in India, to parents, Sanat and Sushila Vashisht of New Delhi, she moved to the USA in 1979 and subsequently married Anand M. Sharma. She pursued a degree in Pharmacy from Drake University in Iowa and graduated in 1988. She worked as a pharmacist for many years, of which her last 14 years were spent at Albany Memorial Hospital. She raised three wonderful children who will always admire her for her courage, honesty, hard work, and her caring and loving nature. She was a very religious and spiritual person. Shashi is survived by her grateful and loving husband, Anand, of 31 years and her three loving children, Ambika, Siddhartha, and Sarika. Also surviving are her parents, brothers, sister, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends. Shashi will be truly missed by all.
Services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Oakwood Cemetery, 186 Oakwood Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
Temple services will be held at 10 am on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Hindu Temple Cultural Center, 450 Albany Shaker Road, Albany, NY 12211.
