Sheila Jean Pannitti

d. September 28, 2006

Pacific Palisades, CA- Sheila Jean Pannitti, 53, entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 28, 2006, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, with her daughter Suzy by her side. Born on July 31, 1953 in Albany, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dominick J. Pannitti and Bertha E. (Sue) La Montain. Sheila moved to California in 1980, there she raised her children. She started her own business C&M Secretarial in Pacific Palisades. Sheila loved to crochet, read, write, but most of all she loved to do genealogy. Sheila and her sister Carol would take trips to Long Island, where they looked for family graves. Sheila would feel such a connection to these people that she had never even met. But they were still family from generations past. Sheila is predeceased by her brother Steven Pannitti.
Listen to me my family, I'm going to die. Listen to my heart, you can hear it cry. Look into my eyes and you will see that leaving you all really bothers me. Take my hand and hold it tight, you've been with me throughout my fight. But god is calling and I can hear the beautiful music, and his presence is so very near. So kiss me and say good bye. Listen to me my family. "Please don't cry. Good bye my friends, it's hard to die."
Sheila is survived by her cherished children, Suzy Clough of California, Bonnie Anderson of Mechanicville, Michael and Caitlin Light of California. She is the proud grandmother of Marcus and Mikaela Keyser and Kaya E. Mobley her "little Evie girl". She is also survived by her beloved brother and sisters, Carol (Thomas) Young of Colonie, Wayne (Ann) Pannitti of West Coxsackie, Judy (James) Ackert of Vermont and Donna (Thomas) Calhoun of West Coxsackie and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stewart Lonky of California for his friendship to Sheila and the care that he gave her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of central Ave.).
