It's with great sadness our beloved Sheila A. Newman, took her last breath on March 29,2025.
Sheila was born on August 5,1955 in Kings County hospital to the late Kaprese and Delores Anderson. Sheila attended Wyngate High School where she attained a passion for sales and helping people and it generated through the rest of her life. Sheila graduated high school and her passion increased. Sheila moved to Albany N.Y. in the early 90's, and it impacted her life immensely. She became a manager at Greyhound bus company and she took pleasure in helping anyone and all that she could with all that she have.
One thing for sure, 2 things for certain, Sheila loved music, movies, dancing and cooking food for her family. It was her pleasure. Sheila will be remembered for her infectious smile, genuine nature, heart of gold and her motherly love. Sheila had some way with words such as: Sweetie, Whip Whop, Wuddie and "this behooves me."
Sheila is preceded in death by her mother, Delores Anderson, father, Kaprese Anderson; grandson, Tracy Strunkey, and her sister, Brenda Anderson.
Sheila leaves behind her two sons, Tracy and Torrey Strunkey; daughter, Veronica Bussey, all from Brookyn, NY; Six grandchildren, Taleesha Strunkey, Torrey Strunkey, Mikyrah Wilson, Tamia Strunkey, Tori and Tia Strunkey. Two great-granddaughters, Alani Strunkey and Kori Davis; Aunt Geraldine Pringle, and her best friend, Michele Jordan; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including her West View family to cherish her memory.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral ceremony to follow the visitation at 1 p.m.
