Sherry Sawyer

Sherry Sawyer, 59, spouse of Michele Agnew, from Clifton Park, NY, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 15, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital. 

Born on October 30, 1965, in Troy, New York, Sherry was the daughter of Clifton E. and Blanche V. Sawyer. 

Sherry was a graduate of Troy High School and enjoyed playing softball in various Troy leagues; which is where she met Michele 31 years ago. They were married on July 28, 2012. During their years together Sherry and Michele lived in Las Vegas, Pittsburgh and Colorado, before returning to the Capital Region. Sherry was enthusiastic about each of their moves and always happy to explore her new surroundings and make wonderful friends along the way. Sherry enjoyed Kayaking with Michele on Round Lake, was an avid reader, and once she hung up her cleats Sherry enjoyed watching women’s softball and, of course, rooting for her beloved Miami Dolphins each week! Go FISH!

In addition to her spouse and her mother, Sherry is survived by her siblings: Joseph Johnson (Shannon), Rick Johnson (Jen), Robert Johnson (Sang Chan), Charmaine Sawyer (Gavin Daniels), Clifton Sawyer (Kristofor Hanchett), Melissa Sawyer (Maurice Mattice). In-Laws: Carolyn Chabot, Walter Agnew (Rhonda), Michael Agnew (Evelyn), Jackie Agnew, Marline Agnew (Gretchen Lynch). Furbabies: Pecos, Keanu and Frankie. As well as many loving nieces and nephews. Sherry was pre-deceased by her father Clifton and her brother-in-law Blaise Patrick Agnew, Sr.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 19th, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189.
