Albany – Shirley Bombard, , passed away peacefully Friday June 11, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Springfield, Mass the daughter of the late Joseph and Jeanette Grady. They moved to Albany was she was a young girl and Shirley has been at home here since. She worked as a bank teller for several local banks, was employed for Sterling Winthrop and most recently worked for the New York State Department of Labor. Shirley was a devout catholic, an astute shopper and a frequent visitor to area casinos. She enjoyed sweets and loved to travel with beloved husband of 53 years, Edward Bombard.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Gerald Burroughs, Sharon (David) Herr, Michael Bombard and E.J. Bombard, grandchildren: Katie, Chris, Joshua and Aaron, brother Larry Grady and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her brothers Raymond and Joseph.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:00 am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
