Shirley Agnes Brady

Shirley Agnes Brady, 86, of Schenectady, NY passed away on October 7, 2024. She was born in Athens, NY on October 2, 1938 to the late William and Dora (Lennon) Van Tassel.

She was the devoted wife of over 55 years to the late Terrence Brady.

She enjoyed spending time with family and traveling. She was an avid birder and enjoyed crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Terrence Brady; son, Richard J. Brady; brothers: Gerald, William Jr., John and Donald, as well as a sister, Marie Van Tassel.

Shirley is survived by her sisters: Lois (James “Jimba” Miller) Bogue and Sharlene Wiser, her brother, Elwood (Patty) Van Tassel, many nieces, nephews and close neighbors.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 5pm-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 9:30am at the funeral home and then to Church of Saint Clare, 1947 Central Avenue, Albany, NY  where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will be Friday, October 18, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Memory Gardens in Colonie, NY.
