ALBANY-Shirley went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2017.
Shirley "Ladybug" Campbell was born on January 19, 1947 to Howard and Isabelle Duell. She spent most of her life living in Albany's South End and worked at Albany Medical Center until her retirement in 2012.
Shirley was a devout Christian who relished every opportunity to share God's grace and love with the world. She was loved by all who knew her as well as by those who simply knew of her. The void that has been left by the loss of our Ladybug will not be, if ever, easily filled.
Shirley leaves to mourn her husband Lawrence Campbell and her children LaQueta (Harris) Jones, Cassandra Harris and Joshua Harris as well as her step-son Eli Harris. Her grandchildren JeNasia, Antonio, LaQuasia, Courtney, Natisha, Sydney, Amani, Jahnay, Xyphreon, Adam, Liam, DeAndre, Richard, Zaniyah, Miah, and great-grandchildren Amari, Avi, Anarion, Javion, Nahla, Antonio Jr will also miss her greatly. She also leaves behind her sister Daisy (Lee) Allen, her brother Albert (Linda) Duell and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Home Going Celebration will take place for Shirley on Monday, May 1st 2017 at New Life Church of Christ, 419 Clinton Ave, Albany Ny. The viewing will take place from 10-12 following the Funeral Service at Noon. At Shirley's request, attenders are asked to wear blue or green.
