Shirley L. Hoosier, 75, of Katherine Dr., Clifton Park, NY passed away May 31, 2009 after a long illness. She was born in Natural Dam, NY the daughter of the late Evelyn Powers and Harley Young. She was the wife of the late Earl Hoosier, Sr. and mother of the late Ronald (deceased) and Donald Brunell. Shirley owned and operated a bar in Troy, named appropriately, "Shirley's". More recently, Shirley owned and operated a catering truck under Shirley's Catering. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and gardening. She also had a great sense of humor and love of cats.
She is survived by her loving step-children: Earl Hoosier, Jr.(Marianne), Mark Hoosier (Marjorie), Rosie Hoosier and Carolyn McIntyre, dear friend Michael Croyle, siblings: Charles (Pat) Young of Georgia, Barbara (Ray) Geier of Canton, IL, Glen (Michelle) Young of Clifton Park, James (Candi) Young, of Glenmont and Sharon (Leroy) Card of Mechanicville. She was predeceased by bother Robert Young and sister Lois Murray. Shirley is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Wednesday 7:00pm at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
