Shirley L. Humphrey, 81, of Cohoes, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Saratoga Center with her loving family by her side. Shirley was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lillian (Mclary) Melick . She was the devoted wife to the late John Robert Humphrey. They were married 56 years until his passing on August 30, 2010.

Loving mother of; the late Robert Humphrey, Debra Lewis, Sandra Humphrey, Joseph Humphrey (Marietta), Michael Humphrey (Judy) and Aletta Karlau (Billy).

Cherished grandmother of; Cassidy Kislowski, Mcayla Humphrey, Lindsey Humphrey, Cristopher Karlau, Alyssa Karlau, EJ Humphrey, Christina Kielty (Mike), James Lewis and Patricia Lewis, and great grandmother of; Violet Kielty, Lillian Kielty and Asher Kielty.

Dearest sister of ; the late Arthur Melick, Marshall "Buddy" Melick and Jean Melick.

Nieces and nephews also survive; Mary Melick, Brian Melick, Phillip Melick, the late Barb Melick, Marie Hutter, Dennis Melick and Patrick Melick.


Shirley grew up in Hannacroix and attended schools in Coxsackie-Athens District. She raised her family in Colonie and lived for 30 years in Rotterdam.
For over 30 years, Shirley was employed by the State of New York as a principal clerk in the Dept. of Transportation. Shirley was very involved with CSEA local #628. Her hobbies and interests included dolls, jewelry and glassware. Shirley's greatest memories include camping trips with her family.

Relatives and friends may call 4-7 PM on Wednesday, August 15th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie.

Private Interment in the Gerald B.H. Solomon - Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
