Albany- Shirley J. (Lehman)Nantista, 93, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016, with her loving children by her side.
Shirley was born on October 25, 1922 in Albany, NY to the late George and Ada Lehman.
Mother worked as a nursing assistant at the Albany County nursing home for many years, and also at Sylvester's dry cleaners. Mom was an excellent cook and she enjoyed cooking for our family as well as sewing and crocheting. Mom made many blankets and all of our prom gowns.
Predeceased by our father Dominick C. Nantista, daughters Joyce A. Raymond and Joan S. Hallenbeck grandson Richard Hallenbeck and granddaughter Rebecca Foster.
Survived by Sandra M. Stealey Robert Diane Domangue Jerry and David M. Nantista Libby 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 9:00am, at All Saints Catholic Church (Former St. Margaret Mary's), 16 Homestead St, Albany, NY 12203(behind CVS). Burial will take place at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
