Albany- Shirley Norton, 85, went peacefully to her eternal rest on December 29, 2021, at the Teresian House.
The youngest of eight siblings, Shirley was born on February 10, 1936, in Ticonderoga, NY. She later married William, a veteran of the Korean War; the two settled in Albany, where together they lived a vibrant life and had three children: William Jr., Michael, and Shirley Ann, her namesake. Shirley was proud of her career with the Albany Public School System. In addition to her family, Shirley loved her collection of Precious Moments and Peanuts memorabilia, watching western movies, and visiting with her friends. After William Sr. predeceased her (2008), Shirley was surrounded by the love and care of her children and, in her last months, the compassionate staff of the Teresian House, whom her family wishes to thank for their service.
Shirley is survived by her three children; her grandchildren: Jessie, Moriah, Travis, Tyler, and Troy; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson Jonathan.
A reception to celebrate Shirley's life and a memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.
