Shirley Mae Rodd

SCOTIA – Shirley Mae Rodd, 80, passed away on Monday morning, April 5, 2021 at Evergreen Commons after a period of failing health.

She was born in Amsterdam on May 31, 1940 a daughter of the late Orrin and Irene (Sawyer) White. Shirley was a graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School, Class of 1958. She later attended and graduated in a Certificate Program from Spencer Business Institute.

Shirley spent many years as a devoted homemaker before joining the workforce. She was employed as a manager with Kem Cleaners in Scotia for 22 years before retiring.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Shirley was predeceased by her longtime companion, Louis Lattanzio, who passed away on March 4, 2021; her sister, Marian Farley and her brother, Donald White.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey S. (Susan) Rodd; her daughter Debra (Anthony) Cavallo; her sister, Joyce (Richard) Jones; her brother in law, Roger Farley; 3 granddaughters, 7 great grandchildren; 7 nieces and nephews; her best friend, Meg Rodd who was the surviving spouse to Shirley's first husband, Robert Rodd, now deceased.

Shirley's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Evergreen Commons, in particular, Jennifer and her daughter, Jasmine.

Private burial will be held at Union Rural Cemetery in Broadalbin. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
