Shirley A. Sawicz

Schenectady- Shirley A. Sawicz (Krisanda), aka Nana, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023 with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Caroline Krisanda. Shirley was the devoted wife to Edward J. Sawicz. They were married 55 loving years.

Shirley enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved being a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her entire life was always about "the kids", her own children, her Grandchildren and her precious Great Granddaughters, they were the apple of Nana's eye. She especially loved vacationing every year with the family at the ocean.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her children, Edward Sawicz Jr., David (Beth) Sawicz and Sandra Sawicz; her grandchildren, Michael R Sawicz, Madelynn Sawicz, Jacob Sawicz, Cameron Sawicz and Shianne Sawicz; and her two great granddaughters, Mila Sawicz and Remi Sawicz.

Shirley is also survived by two sisters, five brothers, and several nieces and nephews (Krisanda, McDermott, Larsen).

In addition to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her son, Michael F Sawicz, and brothers Gary Krisanda and Douglas Krisanda.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York 12205 on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 11am to 2pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10am. Burial will follow the funeral service at at Calvary Cemetery, 481 Rte 9W, Glenmont, NY 12077.
