Shirley H. Stalker

SCHENECTADY-Shirley H. Stalker, 91, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 surrounded by the love of her family.
Shirley was born in Westport, NY to the late Douglas and Lucy Howard on April 21, 1925. She was a graduate of Westport Central High School, and during WWII she went to work for G.E. as a draftsman and she worked on such projects as the Moon Landing, and the Northway.
Shirley will be remembered for her love of travel, art, and knitting to benefit numerous charitable organizations including the V.A. and Albany Medical Center. Her passion in life was her family.
Shirley is predeceased by her aunt, Ruby Howard who raised her, and her husband, Harold Stalker.
She is survived by her children; Doreen (Tom) Lynch, Janet (Patrick) Gough, Douglas (Carol) Stalker, and Robert (Tammy) Stalker, her grandchildren; Kevin (Julie), Jonathan (Jeri), Shana, Andrea (Caesar), James, Thomas(Bridget), Tyler, Michael(Amber), Matthew(Erika), Joshua(Kim), Abraham(Sandy), Sarah(Damien), Laura(Odd), and Shane(Veronica), and her 16 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 10:30am-12:00pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
Donations may be made in Shirley's name to the Rotterdam United Methodist Church, 1915 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306.
