Shumeka Mentor, 39, passed away suddenly on May 15th, 2024. She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of those around her, deserves a special tribute. She was not only a loving and caring person, but she also cherished her family and friends, especially her beloved husband and children.
As the eldest among her siblings, Shumeka naturally became a beacon of guidance and support. Her wisdom and compassionate nature made her the go-to person for advice, and she embraced this role with open arms. Shumeka's ability to listen and provide thoughtful insights was a true gift, and her loved ones always found solace in her words.
In addition to her role as a supportive sister, Shumeka dedicated her time and effort to her work at Living Resource Amazon. Her commitment and dedication to her job were evident in everything she did. Not only did she excel in her professional life, but she also lent a helping hand to her husband in running the family business. Shumeka's multitasking abilities and determination were truly admirable.
But beyond her professional endeavors, Shumeka's heart belonged to her family. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones and made it a priority to create lasting memories. Whether it was a simple family gathering or a fun-filled adventure, Shumeka's presence radiated love and joy. Her genuine affection for her family was evident in every smile and embrace.
Shumeka Mentor, a loving wife, caring mother, trusted sibling, and dedicated professional, leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. Her impact on the lives she touched will forever be cherished. May her memory be a guiding light for all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Cleon, children Shania Burgan-Mentor, Alicia, Aneesa and Akeem Mentor, mother Karen Woods, Father Carl Burgan, mother and father in law Marylin and Earl Mentor, siblings Kelvin, Kellon and Kalvin Goodluck, Tiffany Mickle, Treville, Tunisiea, Teron and Jecasha Burgan, as well as neices and nephews, Azalia and Azanai Mickle, Teylor and Treyvon Burgan, Shermon Doris, Jasiah and Kalvin Goodluck, Myron Butcher, Keiara Goodluck, Kelly, Miracle and Angel Doris. She was loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday May 28th from 9am-11am, with a service to take place at 11am, at Capital City Seventh Day Adventist 168 S Allen St, Albany, NY.
Interment immediately following in Albany Rural Cemetery.
