Sondra Ainscoe, 89, of Albany, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 1, 2019 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Cortland, NY on February 1, 1930 a daughter of Lawrence J. and Doris I. (Griffeth) Peck.
Sondra was an avid bowler in her earlier years, regularly appearing on televised bowling tournaments. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her cats, enjoyed word puzzle books and saw the world through rose-colored glasses.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rensselaer and enjoyed playing the organ and the accordion. She was an active volunteer at Westview Apartments and Albany Memorial Hospital.
Sondra was predeceased by her husband, James Ainscoe, II in 1986 and her sister, Diane K. Rossetti.
She is survived by her son, James Ainscoe III and daughter-in-law, Michele Ainscoe; her daughter, Debra Middleton and son-in-law, Fred Middleton; 2 granddaughters, Hope Roth and Sara Allen; a grandson, Stephen Allen; a great grandson, Vincent Allen and her four-legged friends, Angel and Frisky.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice or to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Sondra's memory.
