Sondra T. Mattick

December 10, 1938 — October 20, 2022

Sondra Therese Mattick was born Sondra T. Hawkins on December 10, 1938 in Albany NY to parents Mary Elizabeth Hawkins and Martin J. Hawkins.

She married and divorced Augustus H. Mattick Jr., with whom she had two children.

Sondra graduated from Albany High School and continued her education at Maria College as well as through correspondence courses to obtain certification as a Registered Health Information Technician. This led to a career as a clerk in medical records at Child's Hospital in 1976, leaving there as a manager after 10 years to become supervisor of medical records at Ellis for a few years before moving onto Bellevue Hospital where she worked as Manager of Health Information Services until her retirement in 2004.

During this time, she served in several different positions on the board of the Adirondack Health Information Management Association, with roles including education director, secretary, treasurer and state delegate. In addition she volunteered as a reading aide in the Glenmont School from 2004-2005 and a tax aide with AARP from 2006-2012.

Her accomplishments as a single woman and mom were a source of well-earned pride and ahead of her time.

Upon retirement, she became a lady of leisure and travel. She enjoyed many trips with her friend Norman Gates. She was lifelong friends with Helen Labarge starting in the 4th grade. She considered her a sister. Sondra had an outgoing personality and made time for everyone. She enjoyed reading and bowling, visiting Maine and dining out with friends.

She achieved her wish of passing at home; her light in this world will be missed.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her younger brother Patrick Hawkins.

Sondra is survived by daughter Kelly T. Quinn, son in law Tom Quinn, grandchildren Ryan, Logan and Mallory Quinn and her son Augustus H. Manly and daughter in law Heidi Manly.
