Sonia Arroyo

ALBANY- Sonia (sierra) Arroyo was born to Ester and Incencia Sierra in Manti, Puerto Rico on the 10 of August, 1938 passed away on September 26, 2020.

She grew up with her siblings, Gregory Sierra and Carmen Sierra who went home before her, and Lidia Sierra and Hector Sierra who she leaves behind.

She had 7 children, Freddie Cruz (still resides in Puerto Rico) Jackeline Arroyo, Alfredo Arroyo, Edwin Arroyo, and Caroline Arroyo whom all arrived home before her. She leaves behind two children, Brenda Arroyo, and Edgar (Shi) Arroyo Jr. 12 grandchildren, and a long list of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

She made a wonderful life here in Albany, N.Y. Being a homemaker but opening her arms and heart to everyone, family and friends. May she meet with her loved ones at home and everyone rejoice for she is at peace and with family. We all will miss you and we will see you again.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hour on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 2 to 3 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated from 3 to 4 p.m.

Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
